Hannah: Watercolour artist

1.- Please, Introduce yourself:

Hi, my name’s Hannah. I was born in England but have now spent half my life living in NZ and partly Australia. I have 3 daughters that are the centre of my world, and on the fringe of this I am an artist.

2.- What does a typical working day for you look like?

Get the kids ready for school, walk the dog, get done housework started then sit down to draw/paint. Then before I know it, it’s time to pick the kids up!

3.- What inspires you?

Nature mostly. Colours, textures, natural beauty.

4.- What would your dream project/client be?

My own series of free flow, abstracts! Completely different from my current work of mostly realism studies.

5.- What's something you wish you'd known at the beginning of your creative career?

That there really is room for everyone!

6.- What do you do when you are not busy creating?

Keep busy mumming!

7.- Do you have any technique for overcoming creative blocks?

Procrastination…umm, not a very good technique. Need to work on that one.

8.- What are you working on right now?

A cottage garden watercolour.

9.- What advice would you give to someone that's just starting the same career as you?

Practice every day and don’t overthink.

10.- Name 2 podcasts, magazines, websites or artists that you're into at the moment.

The Laura Horn podcast and Hilma af Klint.
