The Hamsa Hand has been variously interpreted by scholars as a Jewish, Christian, or Islamic followers and as a pagan fertility symbol.

In the Islamic faith, it symbolizes as The Hand of Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet Mohammed.

It is speculated that Jews were among the first to use this amulet due to their beliefs about the evil eye.
